Choosing Your Teapots
There are various types of teapots available in the market. They are best made for brewing tea before the tea is poured into cups. They can be used for brewing the different types of tea such as the herbal tea, green tea, black tea, among others. There are those made of Chinese clay known as Yixing, tetsubin which are made of Japanese cast iron that are usually decorated and embossed. Yixing and Tetsubin absorb oils that create seasoning and give the tea a richer and more flavored tea after years of use. There is China porcelain which is very beautiful but delicate in nature. The silver, plain or ornate are the common treasured type for collectors. The stainless steel holds more heat and is durable. The glass type are versatile and are good for blooming tea.
The glass type does not absorb oils and can be used for different types of tea. It is also dishwasher proof. It can be washed in the dishwasher without fear of damaging it. The teapots are available in different designs, shapes, sizes and materials. The different types of tea are best in different types of teapots. Black tea are best brewed in stoneware type, Indian tea are best in metal type, while lighter tea such as herbal tea or green tea are best in porcelain type.
The glass type can be used in the microwave without fear of damage. The cast iron tetsubin are meant for boiling water and they improve the quality of the water by releasing minerals into the water which adds flavor. The glazed tetsubins are meant for brewing tea. They can rust though you can avoid this by drying the teapots completely before keeping it. There are others with infusers that are used for brewing loose tea leaves. They can be bought with the infuser or the infuser can be bought separately. This prevents the tealeaves from getting into your cup and having the right flavored tea.
